The Journey Begins With One Step

Over 20 years ago, I was introduced to The One Year Bible. At the time, I had already been a pastor several years. I studied the Bible in college. I prepared talks and sermons. I read portions of the Bible. But I had never actually read it through.

The original One Year Bible was released in the New International Version. I got a copy and read it through. I discovered that 10-15 minutes a day were enough to completely read the Bible through in a year. I liked the OYB plan because it allowed me to daily read from both the Old and New Testaments. It also took me to a portion of Psalms and Proverbs each day.

I am grateful that I have read the Bible through every year since then. Each journey is a new adventure that uncovers new treasures. I hope you will take this journey with me.

During the earthly journey of Jesus, he asked people to join him. Those who payed the price of leaving their old life behind got to know Him far better than those who kept their distance. One example of this is...
When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. (Matthew 5:1-2 The Message)

I am inviting those who attend Stone Ridge Church in Yuma, Arizona, USA to become one of Jesus' "Climbing Companions." You can come back here each day to make your comments, ask questions and received encouragement on your journey.
